JEFF

BIOGRAPHY

My name is… Jeff

Job Title… Managing Director

Original Country… I am a Kiwi originally from Christchurch and now in Rangiriri around the corner from Lakewood Lodge

Specialising in… Pretty much EVERYTHING to do with the lodge from finance to sales, to creating camp programs, packages, training staff, planning menus with the team, planning events, coordinating marketing activities, managing revamps and lodge maintenance, ensuring our gardens, land and facilities are maintained – you name it 😊

Previous Experience… As a kid I worked part-time at the lodge while my mum Christine was establishing it. I left New Zealand for USA when I was 18 and completed several outdoor education courses as well as experiencing Camp America camps so when I returned, I came back to teach all the instructors and eventually run the Operations of Lakewood Lodge. I quickly became full time, training instructors and creating exciting cutting edge teaching activities. I know every part of the business and can fill in anywhere and am extremely passionate about ensuring Lakewood Lodge delivers an impeccable experience for all visitors and every year they keep coming back for more. I love all sport and am President of almost every club I am involved in from squash to cricket. I also have a massive passion for travelling where I get new ideas that I bring back to the lodge each season. My son Sam is also an amazing Instructor and when he’s not studying finance and data science at Victoria University in Wellington, he’s helping out around the Lodge.

Why I love Lakewood… I love being outdoors and out on the farm. I love the versatility of my work and the ability to make a difference through the camps and events we run.
