When we’re not running school or holiday camps or hosting private groups, we invite travellers to the North Waikato to stay with us. We have a range of rooms to choose from:
Room one looks out over the northside of Lakewood lodge. It contains 2 King single beds. There is access to the outdoor seating area via French doors and storage area for luggage and clothing.
The smallest of our main rooms, the lake view room has 2 single beds and storage space. This room also has a large window which boosts a stunning view of Lake Whangape.
The Red Room is a popular choice with guests with children. Sleeping up to 6 guests on 2 twin single bunks and 2 king single beds. Newly painted, this room contains storage space.
The largest of our main rooms, the family room holds up to 6 guests. 1 twin single bunk, 2 regular single beds and 2 king single beds. There is no storage in this room.
The outside room is semi-detached from the rest of the rooms giving it a more private feeling. Newly painted, this room holds 3 single beds and has space for you to hang up and store your clothing or other valuables. This room comes with a semi secluded outdoor area.
Note: All our downstairs rooms come with all linen (Sheets, pillows and duvets) and heating. Our downstairs bedrooms have easy access to the downstairs showers and bathroom, this consists of 3 private showers and 2 toilets.
MAIN LODGE UPSTAIRS DORMITORIES
Two separate dormitories are located upstairs in the main lodge. The East wing contains 23 single beds, 22 bunks and 1 stand-alone single that overlooks the room. The West wing contains 21 Single beds which consists of 8 bunks and 5 free standing single beds. Both dormitories have private toilets, shared shower facilities are located down the stairs. Pillows and sheets can be provided
Our Male and Female shower facilities block are central to all sleeping quarters, just down the hill path (exclusive of the Survival camping area). There are 4 showers and 3 toilets either side, with indoor heating for the colder months.
We have a large, modern, commercial style kitchen which has a thermowave oven (this oven can steam and/or heat your food), 6 burner commercial stove, one electric stove, 2 microwaves and a commercial toaster. There is also a dishwasher/sanitiser located in the kitchen area. We also have an area of the kitchen specific to those with gluten intolerances.
The kitchen has a great supply of pots, pans, trays, baking trays of all varieties and plastic take away containers. Crockery and cutlery for up to 200 people is also available to use.
LOUNGE DINING AREA
Lakewood Lodge provides a shared living area, great for guests with large families. There is an essential tea and coffee area for the adults! We have the option to watch DVD’s or have a game of Singstar, read a book or play some card or board games. If you’re more musically inclined within the lounge you can find our electric piano, a guitar and a ukulele.
Lakewood Lodge has plenty of outdoor seating, up to 10 picnic tables, which are enjoyed throughout the year. For the colder months, the blinds can be wound down and the heaters put on so guests can still enjoy the outdoors while keeping warm. Out the front we have a giant chess & draughts set.
Our large laundry consists of 2 x 7kg washing machines, a dryer and plenty of line space outside undercover as well as a large washing line.
Simple accommodation that allows up to 12 guests. Our Cabin comprises of 10 Single beds, 8 of which are bunks, and 1 double bed bunk with a single overhead. Our guests can be provided with sheets and pillows and heating in the colder months. The cabin can be separated into 2 rooms. One room with 6 single bunk bed, the other room with 4 single beds and 1 double bed. Both rooms have deck access via the double glass doors. Detached from the cabin are the male and female bathroom facilities.
Our barn boosts 31 single beds, sleeping 15 in twin bunks, 15 in triple bunks and 1 bed is a stand-alone single. Our barn comes with its own toilet, wet room and private decking area with outdoor bench seating. Male and female shower facilities are a short walk. Pillows and sheets can be provided.
We have a large hall only metres away from the main lodge. Inside the hall we have 2 pool tables and 2 table tennis tables plus a small lounge area. Out the back of the hall is a sand court with a net, popular with games such as volleyball or our famous J-Ball competition.
Wake up to the sound of birds chirping and the water flowing down the river. We offer tent sites next to our man-made lake or for the more adventurous, we also have tent sites up in our ‘Survival’ area. Both areas have toilet facilities but no power. Our ‘Survival’ area is a short walk to our male and female shower facilities. Tents, mattresses and sleeping bags are not provided.
Our 50m x 25m horse arena is available for hire at an extra cost. B.Y.O.H.

We offer free Wi-Fi, on-site parking and have designated smoking areas. Unfortunately, because we are a farm and have livestock, we cannot allow pets.
