BIOGRAPHY

My name is… James Doyle

Job Title… Chef and Catering Manager

Original Country… I am a Scotsman hailing from Perth in Scotland and now married to a Kiwi living close by in Ngaruawahia

Specialising in… FEEDING PEOPLE, menu planning, stock control and management, food preparation, recipe fun including catering for all our special dietary requirements

Previous Experience… I have been cooking for some time now after graduating as a chef in Perth Scotland in 1998.  I’ve worked all over Scotland from a hotel covering 250 to an old folks’ home covering 20 to 30 people. I basically love to collect people and FEED THEM! I moved to NZ in 2012 with my wife and 5 kids and have been cooking in youth camps since. I love to spend time with the youth of NZ serving and teaching.  My time with the boys’ brigade helped me with the opportunity to watch and help kids develop confidence and skills which will help them in their growth to adulthood. As a registered childminder, First aider and child protection specialist, I am perfectly placed to look out for the welfare of all our visitors, especially the young ones! When I am not cooking up a storm at the lodge, I am spending quality time with my family, golfing or attending church and associated social events.

Why I love Lakewood… I love that at Lakewood I have the opportunity to spend time with kids serving and teaching whilst I watch them develop confidence and skills which will help them in their growth to adulthood.

Favourite Food at the lodge… What do you mean there is only one??? Everything I cook is GREAT SO I think all the food is great 😊
