'The food was so-o-o delicious... My highlight was the horse trekking... You guys made my holiday lots of fun and I really enjoyed getting to meet lots of new people. You guys rock!' October 2005

Rowena Mara:

'My son Toby returned home this evening from his week at Lakewood Lodge. He is absolutely buzzing with the experience and is exhausted from non-stop talking about it! He has obviously had the time of his life, so I would like to say a huge thank you to you all for giving him and his 'step-brother' Aditya (Toby's father's partner's son) such a wonderful time. They both enjoyed themselves tremendously. For Toby, everything about his week at Lakewood Lodge was fantastic - he's said you all looked after them so well. Emma and Avril have come in for particular praise from him, as has the food (compliments to the cook!).
Toby is very keen to return to the lodge and says he would love to become a volunteer worker when he is old enough. It's obvious to me that he has had one of the best experiences of his life which is a marvellous testament to the work you are doing. It's the first time Toby has done anything so independently from family or school and there was a little anxiety prior to departure for us both - clearly unfounded.
So thank you so much again for taking such good care of him.' Janurary 2007

AJ - long time Lakewood Lodge Adventure Camper:

'Lakewood Lodge cares for you, there is awesome food and very lovely staff. You are always busy and you try something new all the time. Come and see for yourself' October 2008

Beau Vipond's School Speech on Lakewood Lodge:

The Wild Side of Lakewood Lodge - 2008

Where am I going?  All I could think about was, am I going to cope with one boy who is quite, well, you know what boys are like.  One hour in a car, I think I'm going to throw up, just thinking about it.  As soon as we turned into a long drive my stomach felt awkward.  At the very top of the hill the first thing I saw was a pig.  As you go further down, you see a climbing wall, a horse arena, a chicken coup, horse stables and horses.

Each morning you wake up at 7.15am, you are able to feel the animals soft coats as you feed the rabbits, ducks and geese.  This was just the beginning of having fun with animals.  A group of us went down to the stables and groomed the horses and you get to realize their personalities.  Some of them are particularly stroppy including Casper.  I wasn't so sure about riding him.  I did ride Storm and even managed to do a jump in the arena, even though I wasn't really sure what I was doing.  I just held onto the reins tightly.

Other activities included in our days at Lakewood Lodge were the water slide, even though it smelt like cow manure.  The cold chills your body as you shiver back up to the top of the hill.  We also played soccer.  Most of you know what soccer is but.new rules - you play in the horse arena.

The confidence you have, you need as you play singstar, spotlight, pool and table tennis.  There was always something to do.

Personally, I think Lakewood Lodge is the best camp because I had so much fun.  You also go to the pools, play a lot of games in the day and so much more.  If you have the confidence and would like to meet new friends, Lakewood Lodge will welcome you there.
