Meet the Staff

Jeff from Lakewood Lodge

Jeff (Manager)

In 1996 I helped Christine establish the Lodge and watched it grow rapidly into an awesome place. I live nearby with my partner, Emma, and my son, Samuel, who you will meet at Lakewood Lodge. I love all sports especially cricket, squash & rugby, and am a huge Canterbury/Crusader fan.

I love watching people have a fantastic time here and do everything possible to make that happen. If you haven't experienced one of my discos at Lakewood Lodge, you are really missing out!

It is my goal to encourage people to have a memorable experience at Lakewood Lodge by combining challenging & fun activities with animal interaction and learning to care for our beautiful environment.

The Vicars Family 2010

The Vicars Family

Mike, Janine, Matthew, and animals moved to Lakewood Lodge in October 2006. Mike and Janine have previously worked on drystock and dairy farms throughout the North Island. Janine also spent 3 1/2 years working with special needs students.

Mike currently runs the 'Survival Adventure' programme at Lakewood Lodge, oversees the daily maintenance of land and buildings and is the teller of 'Scarey Stories' around the firepit! Mike's personal interests are family, fishing and the great outdoors.

Janine is the housekeeper at Lakewood Lodge. She assists in keeping the lodge running smoothly and customers happy. Her interests are family (she and Mike have 3 lovely sons) and horses - especially the sport of driving. During holiday camps, Janine is 'Camp Mother'.

Matthew is 12 years old and attends Te Kauwhata College. He enjoys living at Lakewood Lodge especially when holiday camps are on and he gets to renew old friendships. Mike and Janine enjoy the challenge of living and working at Lakewood Lodge as it brings together their love of children, animals and the outdoors.

Emma

My name is Emma. I was born at Palmerston North Hospital in 1986. I have always wanted to be an outdoor instructor so went to Camp America to get experience. I started working at Lakewood Lodge in 2005 and am the kayaking instructor.

I like reading, painting, photography and love travelling. Every year I like to travel overseas to visit different cultures. I really enjoy interacting with overseas visitors at Lakewood Lodge.

I love working here because I work with happy people and get to meet lots of different people from all around the world.

Robyn

My name is Robyn. I am a full time cook at Lakewood Lodge and started here in February 2008. I was born in Waiuku in 1954 and now live in Tuakau. I love cooking and gardening and I play indoor bowls. I find working at Lakewood Lodge rewarding and love all the children and different people who come here.

What I enjoy most about working at Lakewood Lodge is sharing my love for horses with the many and varied people that come to ride here. I'll endeavour to make your horse encounter a safe and pleasurable experience.

Damian

Hi my name is Damian Thompson, I am a proud New Zealander at 18 years old and I grew up on the beautiful coast of Whangarei Heads with the best bunch of people on earth. I love surfing, climbing, scuba diving, kayaking and everything else to do with the outdoors.

I am the Climbing Wall Instructor at Lakewood Lodge and I also help run the evening activities. I am the youngest of the team at Lakewood Lodge but I make up for it with my enthusiasm and drive towards accomplishing goals. I promise I will do my upmost to help everyone to the top of our awesome 11m Climbing Wall.

I have an honest amount of climbing experience. I am the youngest person to solo summit Mt Everlast with an inspiring height of 4m situated in the beautiful Whangarei Heads playground back in the day. Ok so that's not my biggest achievement, but none the less I will get you to the top. I look forward to seeing you at Lakewood Lodge ready for truck loads of fun.
